Nguyen Le Quynh Chi has more than 10 years of experience in commercial disputes and all aspects of shipping law. She has assisted many international banks, foreign investors, local and foreign corporations, shipowners, and leading underwriters, as well as their counsels around the world with prompt action and comprehensive advice.

She has participated in negotiations to resolve commercial disputes and acted as the authorised representative and protecting lawyer for Vietnamese and foreign clients before local courts at all levels. Quynh Chi has represented clients in numerous arbitration proceedings under the auspices of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) involving multi-million-dollar disputes and also has proficiency in assisting clients with foreign arbitral procedures and the enforcement of arbitral awards from major international arbitration centres.

Quynh Chi earned her Bachelor of Laws from Hanoi Law University and an LL.M. from the University of Leicester, the United Kingdom. She is admitted to the Vietnam Bar Federation and Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association.

  • Acting for a US company in a SIAC dispute of several million US$ with a Vietnamese company over a service contract.
  • Advising a New Zealand group in a dispute over the ownership of its subsidiaries in Vietnam.
  • Advising a Japanese group and its counsels in a complicated VIAC construction dispute.
  • Advising a Polish company regarding a contractual dispute, which might be brought to SIAC.
  • Advising the Vietnamese subsidiary of a US group in a dispute at a local court on service contracts.
  • Advising the Vietnamese subsidiary of an international group regarding a dispute with the local authority on an administrative sanction.
  • Advising a top airline in relation to a labour dispute at the local court.
