Dang Quynh Chau is a Senior Associate based in Frasers’ Hanoi office. She is a qualified solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, admitted in 2017. Prior to joining Frasers, Chau trained and practised at the London office of a major international law firm for more than seven years.

Chau has extensive expertise in commercial real estate matters, having advised clients on a broad range of transactions such as complex and high-value investment acquisitions and disposals, corporate real estate, and leasehold advisory from both landlord and tenant perspectives. A large part of her work involved acting for global investment firms with respect to substantial portfolios with cross-border elements. Her client profile included companies, institutional investors, and in particular large pension funds, retail clients as well as owners of prestigious property portfolios in central London. In addition, she is well-experienced in leading the review and negotiation of complex development agreements.

She earned her Bachelor of Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2014 and completed the Legal Practice Course with Distinction at the University of Law London in 2015.  

A sampling of some recent matters that Chau has advised on includes:

  • Acting for a global investment firm in its corporate real estate transactions, supporting its M&A bid for a global sustainability consultant business worth US$2.5 billion, and assisting in the acquisition of 31 logistics properties throughout Europe valued at EUR900+ million.
  • Advising a major pension fund in its disposal of 100% shares in a corporate vehicle that owned a shopping complex in West London valued at GBP40+ million. 
  • Acting for a private real estate investment firm with a focus on the UK market on the purchase of a newly developed property in the City of London valued at GBP40+ million, including assisting with the financing of the same building, taking charge of the certificate of title and the real estate deliverables. 
  • Advising a sovereign state in its acquisition of a building in central London, as well as its consulate premises in Knightsbridge. 
  • Advising an investment fund in the sales and acquisitions of various multi-tenanted retail parks across the UK valued at over GBP30 million each, involving both freehold and leasehold properties, as well as sale and leaseback transactions.  
  • Acting for the landlord (owner of a prime real estate portfolio across central London) in connection with the construction and forward-letting of a new headquarter for a fintech company.  
  • Advising well-known international retailers in connection with all of their real estate needs in the UK (independent shops, retail units in shopping malls, and distribution facilities), assisting on their high-value flagship premises in Regent Street and Bicester Village, with annual rents in the region of millions of GBP each. 
  • Leading the due diligence for one of the world's leading producers and providers of entertainment and information in connection with their agreements to take on long-term leases of a large studio site in the UK. 
  • Acting for a large pension fund in the review and negotiation of a complex development agreement with a multinational fast-food chain in one of the pension fund's retail parks. 
  • Acting for a UK real estate investment firm on the redevelopment of a mixed-use building in Knightsbridge.
