Draft Decree on Internet services and Cyber-information

Proposed new Decree on the management, provision and use of Internet services and cyber-information in Vietnam

Not dissimilar to certain other parts of the region, Vietnamese regulators are currently reviewing existing legislation relating to the management, provision and use of Internet services and cyber-information.

In particular, they have recently circulated a draft decree to amend the existing Decree 72/2013/ND-CP which includes, among others, proposed new regulations relating to the cross border provision of cyber information; tightened requirements for the provision of social network services; and a welcome relaxation of some of the licensing requirements for online games.
